Job summary

Schools’ Choice in Ipswich is seeking a positive, experienced individual to join our team as Team Leader for warehousing and freight operations. You will support import/export shipments, oversee stock movements, and drive accuracy and compliance across the warehouse.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse administration or logistics/freight forwarding role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse and stock control processes.
• Experience with import/export procedures and shipping documentation.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipments via road, sea, and air freight.
• Liaise with carriers, customs agents, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Track shipments and proactively resolve transport delays or issues.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, HMRC requirements, and international trade procedures.
• Obtain freight quotations and negotiate rates with providers.
• Ensure accurate processing of goods received, stock movements, and dispatch documentation.
• Maintain inventory records within the Warehouse Management System.
• Monitor and investigate stock discrepancies and administrative errors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Promote a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Support and motivate the team with operational and warehouse planning.
