Job summary

Opus Perm in Ipswich is seeking a positive, experienced individual to join the warehousing team in a role that supports freight forwarding and warehouse operations. You will help ensure smooth flow of goods from origin to final delivery, maintain high levels of customer service, and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires previous experience in warehouse administration or logistics/freight forwarding, with strong knowledge of stock control, import/export procedures, and shipping

Responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipments via road, sea, and air freight.
• Liaise with carriers, customs agents, suppliers, and customers for timely delivery.
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and international trade procedures.
• Obtain freight quotations and negotiate rates with providers.
• Ensure accurate processing of goods received, stock movements and dispatch documentation.
• Maintain inventory records in the Warehouse Management System.
• Monitor stock discrepancies and administrative errors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Promote a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Support and motivate the team with operational and warehouse planning.

Role Purpose

To support the freight forwarding and warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods from origin through to final delivery. The role is accountable for maintaining high levels of customer service, accurate processes, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure all import and export shipments are processed accurately, compliantly, and within agreed timescales.
• Oversee accurate records of receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.
• Drive a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective communication across all functions to support smooth operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipments via road, sea, and air freight.
