Job summary

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent.
• Abdomen and pelvic scans.
• Proficiency in using ultrasound machines and associated software.
• HCPC registration.
• 1 year UK experience as a sonographer with NHS and private sector.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, vascular, and musculoskeletal scans.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, explain the process, obtain informed consent and ensure comfort.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, reporting malfunctions to staff.
• Assist in initial interpretation of ultrasound images and report significant findings to the supervising clinician.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to imaging procedures.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care and participate in case discussions and audits.
• Support junior sonographers and students, and provide training and guidance as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and lead workflow management and departmental compliance.
