Job summary

Somerset Council is seeking a Senior Inclusion Lead to lead a locality-based Statutory SEND team, building trusted relationships with families, schools and partner agencies, and to deliver timely, coordinated support.

You will use performance data to improve timeliness, compliance and family experience, while contributing to service-wide improvement priorities, development of the workforce and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing teams
• Ability to manage performance and support staff through change
• Strong understanding of SEND responsibilities and processes (EHC needs assessments, EHC plans, annual reviews)
• Ability to build effective relationships across education, health and social care
• Commitment to co-production with children, young people and families

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a locality-based Statutory SEND team and build trusted relationships across the local area
• Use data and feedback to identify pressures, remove barriers and target improvement activity
• Improve timeliness, quality and legal compliance of statutory SEND processes
• Provide oversight and solution-focused support for complex cases and key meetings
• Contribute to service-wide improvement priorities and workforce development
