Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council is seeking a Principal Policy Planner to support the delivery of the Local Plan. The role involves deputising for the Planning Policy Manager and leading key workstreams to develop and implement sustainable planning strategies.

Hybrid (can be done fully remote) and part-time (28 hours per week) with an umbrella rate of £60-62 per hour. A UK driving licence is essential and recruitment follows safe practices.

Qualifications

• Extensive post qualification experience in Planning and Local Government.
• Experience of successful partnership working.
• Understanding of how to operate in a political environment.
• Fluency in consultation methods and customer care principles.
• Ability to plan financial and staff resources to deliver outcomes.
• Clear oral and written communication; able to lead teams.

Responsabilités

• Support delivery and implementation of the Local Plan for high quality, sustainable development across the Borough.
• Provide support and technical expertise to the Planning Policy Manager; deputise and supervise junior staff.
• Lead on key workstreams for the new Local Plan, including evidence base preparation.
• Contribute to placemaking and climate strategy in line with Council aims.
• Consult with the community and stakeholders, including Members and service teams.
