Job summary

Centrica Energy is seeking a Senior LNG Engineer to join our LNG Technology team at our London office. This hands-on role leads the design and delivery of complex platform enhancements, improves resilience and scalability, and translates commercial requirements into scalable technology outcomes.

You’ll mentor engineers, resolve production incidents, and collaborate with Product, BI, and Architecture teams to shape the tech strategy and future standards.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience developing enterprise applications with C#/.NET.
• Expertise in designing and delivering APIs, integrations, distributed systems and cloud‑native applications.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, resilience and security principles.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and/or Azure.
• Well-developed SQL and data analysis skills, including troubleshooting, optimisation and production support.
• Experience operating within modern DevOps environments, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
• A track record of leading complex technical initiatives within business‑critical technology environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Previous experience mentoring and supporting engineers to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design and delivery of complex platform enhancements and technology improvements.
• Driving engineering best practice across code quality, testing, supportability and platform resilience.
• Owning technical solutions from design through to deployment and production support.
• Supporting and resolving complex production incidents, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing long‑term fixes.
• Collaborating with Product, Business Analysis and Architecture teams to shape technical solutions and delivery approaches.
• Contributing to platform strategy, technical debt reduction and future technology decisions.
• Mentoring engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing and code reviews.
• Helping improve automation, observability, deployment processes and DevOps maturity.
