Job summary

Yü Group is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to join their expanding team, handling a diverse caseload within litigation and dispute resolution. The ideal candidate will have technical litigation experience, be a confident advocate, and possess knowledge of energy debt litigation while offering guidance to junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Strong litigation experience required alongside ongoing qualification.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.

We are looking for an energetic, confident Senior Litigation Paralegal to join our litigation and dispute resolution solution within the wider debt and commercial function. You will handle a caseload of pre-action and litigated matters.

What We Need from Yü

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of matters and undertake all pre-action steps as well as post-litigation procedures.
  • Issue Court Action and take all necessary steps up to and including various options for enforcing a judgment.
  • Prepare and draft Court documentation, including but not limited to Reply to Defences, Witness Statements, Disclosure, Set Aside Hearings and completing court Bundles, from the issue stage onwards.
  • Work on a diverse caseload including small claims, fast/intermediate track, and multi-track claims.
  • Carry out Mediations.
  • Experience handling Summary Judgments and Application to Lift Stays.
  • Handle Statutory Demands and Winding Up petitions.
  • Negotiate settlements and engage in dispute resolution on behalf of clients.
  • Provide guidance and training to Junior Paralegals and Legal Administrative Staff.
  • Gather necessary evidence and data required to support a high volume of valid claims.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
  • Conduct research and analysis of case law to support legal arguments.
  • Deliver commercial litigation services and support a culture of achieving win-win outcomes.
  • Provide front-line legal advice and support related to the development and maintenance of our growing customer base.

  • Technically strong litigation experience: CILEx – Qualified or studying you must be able to work under limited supervision
  • Confident advocate – you have strong communication skills in Court and are able to demonstrate your knowledge of the CPR;
  • Subject matter expert – ideally you have experience of litigating energy debt;
  • Ambitious – Keen to take the next step in leading a legal solution for a rapidly growing business to business utility company;
  • Team player – you’re happy to help a fellow colleague ;
  • Motivated – you have a can-do attitude and love to learn;
