Job summary

Randstad Technologies Recruitment seeks a Senior Linux Systems Administrator for a 6-month, on-site contract in the Reading area. The role requires DV clearance and involves owning a large on-premise Big Data platform, ensuring systems are patched, secure, and continuously running.

You will manage Linux and VMware environments, automate builds with Ansible/Bash, and perform monthly maintenance and troubleshooting to keep critical infrastructure available.

Qualifications

• Active UK DV clearance required.
• Strong Red Hat or Rocky Linux expertise.
• VMware vSphere experience.
• On-site location in Reading area; private transport needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enterprise Linux (RHEL/Rocky Linux) and VMware vSphere environments.
• Automate server builds and routine tasks using Ansible and Bash.
• Apply monthly OS/app updates, certificate renewals, and proactive disk checks.
• Troubleshoot complex network, OS, and storage performance issues.
