Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to manage production Linux server infrastructure (RHEL and Oracle Linux) in a hybrid office setup with Bristol presence as needed. You will implement security hardening, patching, IdM-based access control, and automation to improve reliability and performance.

The role involves collaboration with the Engineering team to drive architecture improvements, on-call support, and documentation of configurations and procedures.

Qualifications

• This candidate has experience supporting production Linux server infrastructure.
• Experience in Level 3 role supporting 300+ Linux servers.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure Linux servers (RHEL, Oracle Linux) on servers with network/storage/security settings.
• Administer user access with IdM, RBAC, and sudo policies; perform access reviews.
• Manage patching with Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Automation Platform.
• Maintain Linux server health, security hardening, inventories, and lifecycle docs.
• Monitor performance, investigate bottlenecks, and optimize resources; familiarity with SCOM and ServiceNow.
• Troubleshoot complex Linux and infrastructure issues; perform RCA and post-incident reviews.
• Automate tasks with shell scripting and Ansible; support backups and DR planning.
• Collaborate with IT teams; document configurations and procedures; be on-call as required.
