Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Lighting Artist in the game industry and a compelling environmental lighting portfolio.
• Strong understanding of lighting principles, color theory, composition, and visual storytelling.
• Portfolio demonstrating environmental lighting work across scenes and levels.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team and communicate technical and artistic concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize lighting for game environments to set mood and atmosphere.
• Collaborate with environment artists and level designers to integrate lighting into levels.
• Use Unreal Engine or Unity to create dynamic and baked lighting solutions.
• Develop lighting style guides and best practices for the team.
• Ensure lighting meets performance budgets and platform technical requirements.
• Provide lighting feedback and direction to junior artists and teammates.
• Troubleshoot lighting issues and keep visuals high quality.
