Job summary

Cadeler seeks a Senior Lifting Engineer to lead lifting operations across our vessel fleet and ensure safety, quality and efficiency in foundation projects. • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience in lifting equipment design, development and project management.
• Strong knowledge of lifting and rigging operations and relevant standards (DNV-ST-N001, DNV-ST-0378, LOLER, EN 13001).
• Experience managing subcontractors and technical activities across the lifecycle.
• Strong PM, communication and problem-solving skills with a safety focus.

• Conduct site audits, work with HSEQ and Quality to support safe lifting operations.
• Monitor lifting-related project progress and identify opportunities to improve processes and costs.
• Build relationships with lifting specialists and subcontractors and drive operational improvements.

We are now looking for a Senior Lifting Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for lifting operations across our vessel fleet. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring that lifting activities and equipment meet the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.

What will you do?

As Senior Lifting Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing lifting operations across foundation projects and contribute to lifting excellence across all operations. You will work closely with project teams, Engineering and HSEQ, and external subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Take the role as Appointed Person with responsibility for project lifting plans. Planning, coordinating and ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
• Develop the projects lifting concepts and review lifting and rigging drawings, approve subcontractor lift plans and maintain accurate project lifting documentation.
• Review method statements against lift plans and contribute to risk assessments and HAZIDs, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Provide technical lifting guidance to clients, MWS, internal teams and subcontractors, resolving comments and operational challenges.
• Brief offshore crews and deck supervisors on lifting plans and attend first loadouts and installations to ensure plans are followed.
• Conduct site audits and work closely with HSEQ and Quality to support safe, compliant lifting operations throughout execution.
• Monitor lifting-related project progress, identifying opportunities to improve processes and optimise costs.
• Build strong relationships with lifting specialists and subcontractors, recommend vetted partners and drive operational improvements

To Succeed In This Role

You are a technically strong and safety‑minded engineer with solid experience in lifting and rigging operations, ideally within the offshore wind or maritime industry. You combine engineering expertise with a structured approach to project management and enjoy working with different stakeholders to find practical solutions.

We Imagine That You Have

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in lifting equipment design, development and project management, preferably within the offshore wind or maritime industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of lifting and rigging operations, including relevant standards and regulations such as DNV-ST-N001, DNV-ST-0378, LOLER and EN 13001.
• Experience managing subcontractors and technical activities throughout the equipment development lifecycle.
• Strong project management, communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work across teams.
• A proactive, adaptable and detail‑oriented approach, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
