Job summary

Bouygues UK, a leading construction and property company, is seeking an experienced Lifting Appointed Person to support safe planning and delivery of lifting operations on a major project in London. You will report to the Project Director and receive guidance from the company's Lifting Appointed Person to ensure operations comply with standards.

The role requires you to be organised, independent and collaborative, with strong knowledge of BS 7121, LOLER, PUWER and the Health and Safety at Work

Qualifications

• Commitment to safety, professionalism and lifting management.
• Organised, dependable and able to work independently within a project team.
• Sound understanding of BS 7121, LOLER, PUWER and HSE Act 1974.
• Proven experience planning and managing lifting operations in construction/infrastructure.
• Ability to prepare lift plans, risk assessments and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage lifting operations per legislation and company procedures.
• Prepare and review lifting plans, risk assessments and lifting documentation.
• Select cranes and lifting equipment for safe operations.
• Collaborate with Project Director, site management, engineers and supply chain.
• Monitor lifting operations for compliance with lift plans and safety standards.
• Provide guidance to Crane Supervisors and Slinger/Signallers to raise competence.
• Promote safety culture and exercise Stop Work Authority when needed.
• Support continual improvement of lifting operations through planning and sharing lessons.
