Bachy Soletanche is seeking an experienced Appointed Person to lead the planning and safe execution of lifting operations on the Sizewell C project. You will plan lifts, supervise installation and dismantling, and ensure compliance with LOLER and BS 7121, mentoring the lifting team and coordinating with clients and safety colleagues.

The role demands a CPCS Blue Card, CSCS, and strong IT skills, with a proactive, safety‑driven mindset and client‑facing confidence across all levels of the

Qualifications

• A valid Appointed Person CPCS Qualification (Blue Card).
• Extensive knowledge of lifting with Crawler Crane / Piling Equipment.
• Appropriate CSCS Card.
• Clear customer focus.
• Knowledge of plant / asset hire industry.
• Clear drive and ambition.
• Team Player.
• Flexible in the role and able to change.
• Ability to manage conflict and negotiate.
• Effective communication, orally and in writing, at all levels.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Management.
• Strong IT skills with Excel/Word/PowerPoint and supplier software.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveys, reports and write Lift Plans.
• Ensure correct selection and usage of lifting equipment and accessories.
• Carry out / assist and supervise site installations and dismantles.
• Ensure lifting operations comply with LOLER 1998 and BS 7121 guidance.
• Plan and supervise lifting operations as an Appointed Person and relay to the team via documentation.
• Ensure lift plans include risk assessments, method statements, and equipment selection; brief relevant personnel.
• Maintain lifting equipment and accessory registers; ensure thorough examinations are up to date.
• Coordinate inspections when required and liaise with clients and safety teams.
• Ensure the Company complies with health and safety regulations.
• Mentor lifting team personnel and review lift plans for suitability.
