Senior Lift Engineer: Performance, Compliance & Refurbishment

Job summary

Criterion Hospitality is seeking a highly experienced Lift Engineer to assess our residential lift portfolio, identify improvements, and provide expert recommendations. You will oversee contractor performance and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will work autonomously across multiple suppliers, manage safety standards, and support refurbishments, with emphasis on UK LOLER, EN81 and BS compliance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in lift engineering across multiple suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance.
• Deep understanding of UK lift regulations and health & safety.
• NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Lift Engineering and LEIA membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing lift systems to identify maintenance needs and compliance gaps.
• Provide technical recommendations to improve performance, reliability and safety.
• Oversee contracted lift maintenance providers to ensure SLAs are met.
• Review current maintenance contracts to secure best value.
• Support major lift refurbishments and modernization projects.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation such as LOLER, EN81, BS.
• Liaise with contractors to resolve urgent lift issues promptly.
