Job description

GLL is currently recruiting a permanent, full-time Senior Lifeguard to join our team at Rainbow Leisure Centre. As a Senior Lifeguard, you’ll oversee a team of lifeguards, acting as a mentor and role model, and be responsible for staff training. Senior Lifeguards have a keen eye for detail, ensuring the safety of customers and the cleanliness of the pool environment.

Responsibilities include maintenance and preparation of areas and equipment, requiring a hardworking and conscientious attitude. Excellent communication and social skills are essential, as you’ll often be the first point of contact for customers. Health and safety are paramount; therefore, attendance at regular pool training sessions is mandatory.

What you need:

• A strong focus on customer service
• Passion and personality
• Knowledge of health and safety
• Great team player
• Ideally, your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) with up-to-date training records; if not, training can be provided upon passing a swim test

What you’ll do:

• Supervise the lifeguard team
• Participate in regular pool rotations
• Supervise and clean the pool area
• Set up equipment
• Handle customer queries
• Support your team by preparing Studios, Gyms, or Sports Halls for activities, and maintaining the centre’s cleanliness and upkeep when not poolside
