Job summary

RNLI is seeking a Senior Station Technician for Mallaig Lifeboat Station. The role focuses on keeping the Severn Class All Weather lifeboat in excellent condition and running day-to-day station operations to support emergency responses.

You will lead and train volunteer crew, maintain rigorous safety standards, and act as an ambassador for RNLI in the community. A solid engineering background and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering background with NVQ L4/SVQ L5 or time‑served apprenticeship.
• Ability to lead and develop volunteers, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in marine diesel engines and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and motivate your team; support development and training.
• Oversee day-to-day running of Lifeboat Station and liaise with Operations Team.
• Lead on Quality, Safety, Health and Environment issues.
• Represent the station to the public and volunteers.
