Job summary

RNLI is seeking a Regional Technician (Electronic) to join our Wales, West & Isle of Man Regional Technical Team. You will travel across North Wales, with a base in St.

Asaph, to maintain lifesaving electronic systems on lifeboats, stations and support facilities. The role requires an engineering qualification, broad electronic knowledge, and experience with diagnostic tools, with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Broad electrical and electronic knowledge (12/24v DC, CAN bus and control systems).
• Experience of diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of navigation / communication / engine management electronics.
• Experience or ability to demonstrate the use of diagnostic systems and tools.
• Proven ability to use your initiative and operate independently.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• A time-served apprenticeship in a relevant setting or other relevant experience is considered beneficial.
• IOSH Working Safely, Working at Height, PASMA and PA testing certification are further skills that are considered useful.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out modifications and planned maintenance.
• Rectifying emergency breakdowns.
• Overseeing contractors and stock control.
• Ensure lifeboat craft, plant and machinery perform to standard.
