Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant for a welcoming four form-entry primary school in Wandsworth, South West London. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across the classroom, delivering targeted interventions, and providing 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils progress academically, socially and emotionally.

The role is open to experienced Level 3 TAs, other TAs and Learning Support Assistants with a recognised Level 3 qualification.

Qualifications

• Holds a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent relevant childcare/education qualification).
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, or Learning Support Assistant in a primary school.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language Needs, and SEMH.
• Safeguarding procedures knowledge and up-to-date safeguarding training.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the classroom with targeted interventions.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils and help them progress academically and socially.
• Assist in behaviour management and contribute to inclusive classroom activities.

Qualified Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant for a welcoming four form-entry primary school in Wandsworth, South West London. This inclusive primary school in Wandsworth, South West London is dedicated to supporting pupils with additional needs. The successful Level 3 Teaching Assistant will support teaching and learning across the classroom, delivering targeted interventions, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and helping pupils make progress academically, socially, and emotionally.

The position is open to experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistants, Teaching Assistants, and Learning Support Assistants who hold a recognised Level 3 qualification.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

• Location: Wandsworth, South West London
• Position: Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant
• Type of Work: Supporting pupils with SEND through 1:1 interventions, small-group work, behaviour support, and classroom-based learning activities
• Start Date: September 2026
• Contract Type: Full Time
• Rate of Pay: GBP105 - GBP120 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
• Hours: 8:30am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent relevant childcare/education qualification)
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Learning Support Assistant within a primary school setting
• Experience supporting children with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, Social & SEMH
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Up-to-date Safeguarding Training
• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references covering at least the last two years
• Must have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent relevant childcare/education qualification)
