Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting for a welcoming primary school in B31, seeking a dedicated Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. You will support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis, in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.

The role focuses on promoting engagement and progress, supporting emotional, social and academic development, and implementing EHCP-aligned strategies to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous SEN experience in a primary school setting.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Patient, adaptable and caring approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support.
• Assisting with learning activities to promote engagement and progress.
• Supporting children's emotional, social and academic development.
• Implementing strategies and interventions in line with EHCPs where required.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
