Job summary

Corporate Travel Management (CTM) Group in the UK/ Europe region seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to provide day-to-day high quality legal advice, risk mitigation and compliance support to CTM’s UK/Europe operations and the wider Group.

Reporting to the Head of Legal for Europe, the role requires strong contract drafting, corporate advisory experience and a pragmatic, commercial mindset to partner with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with current practising certificate.
• Experience in contract drafting, review and negotiations.
• Experience in corporate advisory, commercial law and projects.
• Good understanding of Companies Act, Contractual principles and Data Protection legislation.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to provide pragmatic advice.

Summary of Position

Reporting to the Head of Legal for Europe, the Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing day to day high quality, pragmatic and timely legal advice, risk mitigation and legal compliance and corporate advisory services to CTM’s UK/Europe region business and to the wider Group to support CTM’s strategic objectives and business operations.

Education and Experience

• Qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate
• 7+ years’ experience ideally gained in private practice and in-house or other relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong capability in contract drafting, review, negotiations and providing high quality legal advice as a generalist lawyer across a broad range of agreements
• Experience in corporate advisory, commercial law and transactions and projects
• Good understanding of the Companies Act, Contractual principles and Data Protection legislation
• Experience in employment law desirable, but not essential
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to analyse situations, problem solve and provide pragmatic advice
• Comfortable working proactively in a fast-paced environment with a varied workload
• Strong stakeholder management skills, relationship builder and trusted adviser to Head of Legal, Senior Leadership and the wider CTM business
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail

What to expect from the recruitment process
