The Opportunity

"FICO Legal team has an opportunity for a lawyer with experience in SaaS/software licensing, professional services contracts within a corporate legal department, and data protection. Knowledge of the EU AI Act, DORA, and EBA Guidelines is helpful. Fluency in German, Spanish, or Swedish is a plus but not necessary. The successful candidate will be part of the EMEA Legal department, reporting to the Sr Director, Head of Legal, EMEA, working alongside two other lawyers and a Contracts Administrator. The primary focus will be on commercial SaaS/software contracts, working with global partners & alliances, with additional responsibilities in data protection, EMEA regulation, template work, special projects, and sales support." – Hiring Manager.

What You’ll Contribute
  1. Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements (sales, service, subcontract, software, procurement, NDA, hosting, SaaS, data protection, etc.) for internal and external clients.
  2. Review and revise contract terms (liability limitations, IP indemnity, license grants, warranties, etc.) in line with FICO policies.
  3. Support EMEA sales and business teams, including RFP processes and contract approvals.
  4. Coordinate contract reviews across different business units.
  5. Assist with department support tasks, including template revisions and contract interpretation.
  6. Perform duties professionally and promptly, demonstrating legal leadership.
  7. Understand business needs, policies, and local laws to protect FICO from liabilities.
  8. Identify risks and seek appropriate approvals.
  9. Provide guidance to business contacts to ensure contractual compliance with policies.
  10. Maintain strong client focus and communication skills.
What We’re Seeking
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing.
  • Experience in SaaS/software licensing and data protection, preferably in-house.
  • Excellent English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
  • Knowledge of contract and SaaS terminology.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethics, humor, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel is a plus.
  • Strong contract negotiation, review, and management skills.
  • Basic understanding of US or English software IP law.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Availability for one day in-office per week preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
