Senior Legal Counsel: Construction Law

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for a UK-qualified Senior Legal Counsel to join a global legal team supporting Western Europe operations. The role involves handling legal matters related to UK business activities, working independently at a national level, and collaborating with regional legal teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.

This dynamic position offers exposure to diverse legal issues and strategic decision-making within a growing industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote legal awareness and best practices across UK and regional operations
• Advise UK business units on commercial and contractual matters
• Lead contract negotiations and liaise with clients and partners
• Draft and review legal agreements
• Advise on dispute resolution and claims management
• Support negotiations of TSA and EPK contracts
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies from regional and global leadership
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to UK operations
• Assist departments like Sales, Aftersales, Project Management, PMC, and Procurement with agreements
• Coordinate litigation and legal proceedings as needed

About You

• UK-qualified solicitor with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience
• Experience in private practice and in-house legal roles, preferably in construction, engineering, or renewable energy sectors
• Familiarity with NEC, JCT, and FIDIC contract forms
• Understanding of key commercial agreements like sale/purchase, exclusivity, and loan agreements
• Comfortable with complex technical projects' legal, financial, and operational aspects
