Job description

Contract type: Full Time (37.5 hours) – Permanent

Location: The University of Huddersfield - London Campus

Salary: up to £52,566 per annum

Study Group will deliver a selection of postgraduate and undergraduate courses for the University of Huddersfield (UoH) at a campus in London. The campus is designed to attract a diverse international student body seeking high-quality teaching of UoH with an industry-focused learning experience and strong employability options in London. The main objectives of this role are to:

  1. Plan, design, and deliver educational programmes
  2. Undertake a range of academic management duties associated with course assessment and student experience
  3. Actively engage in subject, professional, and/or pedagogy research and scholarship
ABOUT THE ROLE
  1. Design teaching material and deliver across a range of modules or within a subject area using appropriate teaching, learning support, and assessment methods to ensure students' progress
  2. Design, mark, and give feedback on formative and summative assessments, providing opportunities for students to improve
  3. Within the subject team, plan, design, and develop learning outcomes and materials
  4. Contribute to curriculum revision and improvement in content and delivery
  5. Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements
  6. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress and complete all associated academic administration
  7. Act as a personal tutor, offering support or signposting students as required
  8. Act as a module leader
  9. Engage in subject professional and pedagogy research scholarship, including developing an established record of publication or other recognized outputs
  10. Provide mentoring support to less experienced colleagues and supervised support staff where relevant
  11. Contribute to recruitment activities, e.g., attendance at open days or webinars
  12. Participate in and develop external networks
  13. Contribute to internal and external quality assurance processes
  14. Participate in team, departmental, and school meetings and committees, including chairing as appropriate
  15. Ensure the implementation of university and Study Group policies and regulations within the remit of duties
  16. Undertake other duties as directed by or in agreement with the Head of School or other senior leadership members
ABOUT YOU
  1. Master’s degree (or equivalent) plus a Doctoral degree in a relevant subject, or close to completion
  2. Teaching qualification/Fellowship of Advance HE (formerly HEA) or capacity to obtain within 12 months of appointment
  3. Experience in designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate curricula/modules
  4. Experience supervising postgraduate researchers and taught student dissertations/projects
  5. Established record of quality research and scholarship in a relevant area
