Job description

The Senior Lease Accountant will join the team responsible for the accounting, reporting, forecasting, and administration of Ralph Lauren stores’ and corporate offices’ leases across Europe. The team handles key areas related to leases and their administration, including:

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and maintain financial records in compliance with policies and standards (ASC 842).
2. Perform month-end close activities such as accruals, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
3. Ensure all lease-related expenses are accurately recorded.
4. Prepare EMEA lease reporting packages.
5. Assist in statutory accounts preparation in accordance with local GAAPs for over 20 legal entities.
6. Support internal and external audits.
7. Develop rolling forecasts, annual plans, and long-range plans.
8. Analyze and explain variances between actuals and forecasts/plans.
9. Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team on closing and forecasting activities.
10. Partner with Real Estate and Legal teams to maintain up-to-date financial data and lease administration.
11. Coordinate with Real Estate and Legal teams on store and office openings, closures, and renewals.
12. Review lease agreements and determine proper accounting treatment.
13. Generate accounting schedules for new leases and renewals using Costar.
14. Consult with the Global accounting policy team on technical accounting issues.
15. Support lease administration activities such as invoice review and payment reconciliation.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge:

1. 3-5 full strategic cycles of experience in Accounting, Finance, or Audit.
2. Knowledge of lease administration software (e.g., Costar) and SAP is a plus.
3. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
4. Proactive, self-driven, and problem-solving attitude.
5. Ability to meet tight deadlines and escalate issues promptly.
6. Detail-oriented with strong multitasking skills.
7. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
8. High level of professional customer service for internal and external stakeholders.
