Nicholas Associates Group Limited is seeking a Senior Production & Continuous Improvement Engineer in South Yorkshire. The role offers a £49,000 - £54,000 per annum salary and a 40-hour week, with early starts Monday-Thursday and a half-day Friday.

Formación

• Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent.
• Significant experience in a production/manufacturing engineering environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and coordinate the Production Engineering team, delivering project-based improvements and supporting day-to-day engineering activities.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives, utilising Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities, improving productivity, reducing waste and controlling manufacturing costs.
• Support the introduction of new products and components, managing engineering changes and ensuring production readiness.
• Maintain and improve Bills of Materials (BOMs), controlled build processes, manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
• Review and improve manufacturing processes, engineering specifications, tooling, fixtures and production methods.
• Develop efficient production layouts, including cellular manufacturing, flow lines and single-piece flow principles.
• Conduct process analysis and time studies to identify bottlenecks, improve cycle times and balance production operations.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to resolve technical and quality issues and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Develop effective material flow, stock location and logistics processes, including Kanban systems.
• Promote and maintain high standards of workplace organisation through 5S and Visual Factory principles.
• Support the development and training of employees, encouraging a culture of employee engagement, ownership and continuous improvement.
• Ensure manufacturing processes and facilities operate in accordance with relevant Health & Safety requirements.
