As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Equities Derivatives and Risk Technology team, you are an essential member of an agile team dedicated to developing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, applying deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to a diverse range of challenges spanning multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and troubleshoots innovative software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches to resolve technical challenges.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code, reviews, and debugs code written by team members.
• Identifies opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to enhance operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and their applicability within existing systems.
• Champions communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and emerging technologies.
• Contributes to a team culture centered around equity, respect, and collaboration.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with proficient experience in React.
• Experience with automation and continuous delivery methodologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud computing, AI, machine learning, or mobile development.
• Hands-on experience building complex web applications using React and Typescript.
• Familiarity with web build tools such as webpack, create-react-app, or Vite.
• Ability to develop secure, high-quality production code in Typescript.
• Strong commitment to code quality, including writing test cases using frameworks like Jest, Cypress, or @testing-library/react, and conducting performance testing.
• Understanding of web performance diagnostics and optimization.
• Experience with Python 3+.
