Job Description

Be an integral part of a team that's constantly pushing the envelope to enhance, build, and deliver top-notch technology products.

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Market Risk team, you will lead the rapid expansion of a strategic visualization and reporting platform. You will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

  1. Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or resolve problems.
  2. Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  3. Collaborate with platform leaders, product managers, product owners, scrum masters, and UX teams to ensure smooth delivery of features and solutions.
  4. Contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firmwide and Risk Technology frameworks, tools, standards, and SDLC practices.
  5. Influence peers and decision-makers to adopt and apply strategic, leading-edge technologies.
  6. Lead by developing a high-performing, dynamic team and help them minimize impediments to development progress.
  7. Demonstrate the ability to independently tackle design and functionality problems with minimal oversight.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in Computer Science concepts and proficient advanced experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Expertise in React, including best practices for UI engineering, CSS, browser support, responsiveness, accessibility, tooling, build strategies, and enterprise scalability.
  • Proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, and practical experience with ag-grid, Highcharts, d3, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Ability to design and implement data sourcing strategies, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and seamless integration from various sources.
  • Knowledge of legal and jurisdictional requirements related to Market Risk reporting, ensuring platform compliance.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience collaborating with UX professionals.
  • Experience working with design systems.
