As a Senior Lead Data Lake Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology, Chief Data and Analytics Office Development Team, you will play a pivotal role in an agile team committed to enhancing, developing, and delivering high-quality, reliable technology products securely, stably, and scalably. Your skills in problem-solving and your extensive technical knowledge will be utilized to tackle a broad spectrum of challenges across diverse technologies and applications, significantly influencing the business.

Job responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business, its technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Create complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by the team.
• Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
• Contribute actively to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.
• Support and promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and proficient advanced experience.
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS or GCP) via hands-on experience or certification.
• Solid understanding of software applications and technical processes within related disciplines (e.g., data ingestion, data storage, data serving, APIs).
• Hands-on experience with data lake or data warehouse technologies (e.g., Spark, ETL, Databricks).
• Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Python.
• Ability to independently address design and functionality problems with minimal oversight.
• Educational background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Additional hands-on experience or certification in cloud technologies (AWS or GCP).
• Proficiency in other programming languages, such as Java.
