Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced Java experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in back-end technologies, notably Java, Spring Boot, high-performance Java, thread safety, lockless approaches, and controlled object generation for high-volume systems.
• Experience with AWS and Terraform-based deliveries.
• Hands-on experience designing and building scalable applications using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience leading the use of enterprise AI-assisted development tools and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' code.
• Drive adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Establish measurable validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing, release readiness).
• Promote reuse of proven patterns and automation across the SDLC and toolchain.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC tools and AI-assisted capabilities to scale automation value.
• Drive decisions influencing product design, functionality, and operations.
• Act as a subject matter expert and contribute to the engineering community.
