Job summary

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK is recruiting two permanent Lead Internal Auditor positions at the Senior Associate level within the Internal Audit division. You will oversee audits across regulatory, operational and corporate functions, guiding teams and engaging with senior management.

Salary ranges vary by location: London £59,100–£80,000 and Edinburgh/Leeds £53,800–£72,000, with final figures based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Previous internal and/or external audit experience identifying key risks and evaluating key controls.
• Experience delivering internal audit reviews against agreed standards, timelines and budgets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated leadership with coaching, delegation and collaborative working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and deliver audits across FCA's regulatory, operational and corporate functions, managing audit activities from planning through to reporting.
• Analyse information from multiple sources to assess risks and identify control weaknesses and emerging issues.
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders, including Executive Directors, building productive relationships and challenging to lead to improvements.
• Produce concise, risk-focused audit reports with practical recommendations to improve the control environment.
• Manage a varied portfolio of audit and non-audit work, balancing priorities and sharing insights to drive improvement.
• Work with data specialists to translate audit questions into clear data specifications and analyses.
