Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in London’s Risk Central team seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer to own and operate scalable data analytics services. You will guide ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers across Databricks and Redshift, ensuring reliability, governance, and performance.

You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and partner with Front Office, Risk, Product Control, and Finance to deliver timely analytics for markets risk use cases on AWS.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and or Java or Scala with CS fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with distributed data processing (Spark) and building data pipelines.
• Experience with Databricks, Redshift, or equivalent data warehouse technologies.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling patterns.
• Cloud engineering knowledge including security and IAM.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex data engineering initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and drive engineering best practices.
• Design and operate scalable batch and streaming pipelines.
• Improve monitoring, incident management, and SLAs/SLOs.
• Build data products and workflows across Databricks and Redshift.
• Collaborate with global teams across Front Office, Risk, and Finance.
