Job summary

J.P. Morgan Personal Investing is seeking an engineer to join a team building a first-class suite of mobile and web apps for investors in the UK. You will own from estimation to release, write robust tests, and ensure secure, auditable code paths in a macro-fintech environment.

The role involves collaborating with Product, Compliance, and Operations to deliver high-quality software that balances speed and regulatory controls, in a London-based squad.

Qualifications

• English working proficiency is a must; you will be working with the team in London.
• Hands-on experience with exchange, brokerage, custody, wallet, or settlement systems for digital assets.
• Adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Understanding of SDLC tools and AI-assisted development capabilities to improve automation at scale.
• Solid understanding of digital-asset fundamentals: blockchains, wallets, keys, signing, transactions, tokens, custodial vs non-custodial models.
• Experience with smart contracts or on-chain data (Solidity, web3, Infura/Alchemy, etc.).
• Experience designing event-driven architectures with Kafka for high-throughput data.
• Experience integrating with third-party financial or trading APIs (REST, WebSocket, FIX).
• Knowledge of REST APIs and Git workflow; strong communication within delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrations with digital asset providers and infrastructure, focusing on security and scalability.
• Collaborate with Product to implement features following an Agile SDLC; stack includes Java/Springboot, Kotlin, AWS, and databases.
• Design how architecture evolves; utilize ADRs and microservices on Kubernetes with Kafka-based streaming.
• Partner with Compliance and Risk to meet regulatory requirements for digital assets.
• Take ownership of tasks from estimation to release and post-production; write tests and ensure high-quality code.
• Lead code reviews and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions across engineering.
• Contribute to technical initiatives to improve the existing codebase and tooling.
