Job summary

JPMorganChase & Co.GB Intelligence is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to build production-grade AI capabilities integrated into bankers' workflows. You will design secure backend services, implement agentic/LLa powered features, and drive reliability across the platform with OpenSearch, AWS, and IaC tooling.

Qualifications

• Formal software engineering training and advanced applied experience.
• Strong hands-on Python with production backend and API development.
• Experience building agentic and LLM-powered capabilities with tooling.
• Experience with SDLC, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Ability to communicate tradeoffs clearly to cross-functional partners.
• Proficiency with AWS, Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins and modern tooling.
• Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
• Monitoring/observability tools experience and reliability focus.
• Hands-on AI-assisted development tools usage and safe practices.
• Awareness of responsible AI use and secure handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex backend services and APIs in Python for production use.
• Build agentic capabilities with the Smart SDK, including tool integration and safety guardrails.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation pipelines end-to-end with OpenSearch.
• Establish LLM evaluation and monitoring, with dashboards and regression checks.
• Create secure integrations across systems bankers rely on daily.
• Write secure, high-quality code and mentor teammates through reviews.
• Drive reliability improvements and automation to reduce toil.
• Develop data and search solutions using AWS Aurora and OpenSearch.
• Contribute to cloud-native engineering on AWS with Terraform and IaC.
• Leverage enterprise AI coding assist tools while validating outputs for correctness.
• Apply SDLC tooling knowledge to improve automation value.
