Job summary

Essential Employment is seeking a Senior Lawyer for a temporary role in Devon. The successful candidate will have rights to conduct litigation and advocacy, with substantial recent criminal litigation experience, including Crown Court regulatory and trading standards matters.

You will supervise junior team members and be willing to expand expertise to cover a fast-paced, broad range of legal topics, delivering timely, practical advice to local government clients.

This is a temporary role and the rate is £42.67ph PAYE

The successful candidate will be an experienced local government lawyer with rights to conduct litigation and advocacy and with substantial recent experience in criminal litigation including but not limited to crown court regulatory/trading standards.

They will also be expected to offer some supervision to junior members of the team and must be willing to learn new areas of law to be able to provide fast paced legal advice on a range of topics.
