At Dalcour Maclaren, we are key players in the Utilities and Infrastructure industry, unlocking consents for the UK’s utilities and infrastructure sector. This senior role within the Geomatics team will lead the land referencing process, manage data, quality‑assure Books of Reference production, and oversee associated documentation for internal and external clients supporting large‑scale, fast‑paced projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the consistent point of contact between affected parties, communities, and organisational delivery teams to successfully submit Development Consent Order (DCO) and Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) Books of Reference on behalf of our clients.
- Manage projects and requests, ensuring requirements and objectives are met while building positive relationships with clients and the team.
- Identify key data sources, engage with suppliers to license, obtain and set up the required environment and processes to maximise value.
- Maintain an eye for detail to identify, extract, verify and upload all relevant information to our bespoke internal land referencing database.
- Communicate with project stakeholders to record and update land ownership data, understanding client requirements to guide junior team members and quality‑assure deliverables.
- Ensure work is carried out in compliance with relevant legal, statutory, contractual and organisational requirements and policies.
- Be commercially aware, maintain accurate records and requests, provide regular client updates and ensure precise billing.
- Take ownership of both individual and team work, specialize in due diligence tasks associated with DCO and CPO submissions, and drive positive change.
- Mentor junior team members to achieve their career aspirations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience of land referencing for development consent order (DCO) and compulsory purchase order (CPO) projects.
- Expert knowledge of the statutory processes and comfort in mentoring and training team members to maintain quality standards.
- Client‑facing experience with confidence in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong IT skills, familiarity with GIS, and readiness to take on new challenges.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, results‑driven mindset and keen problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to manage large volumes of both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site and project locations.
