The roleAs a Senior Land Management Officer, you'll lead sustainable land management across Anglesey, Conwy, and North Gwynedd. You'll oversee key sites on the Welsh Government Woodland Estate and National Nature Reserves, managing legal liabilities, conservation work, and ecological planning.
This hands-on role involves activities such as tree safety surveys, providing technical input on conservation and heritage constraints, and habitat restoration advising. You'll engage with local communities and lead contracts to manage land and protect natural heritage.
You will be the expert for your area, working with technical officers and a team leader to achieve results aligned with national priorities. If you enjoy outdoor work, engaging with people, and balancing conservation with practical land management, this is a great opportunity.

The role is based at the NRW office, with a hybrid working pattern to be agreed. Face-to-face meetings or training will be scheduled in advance.
Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
Successful applicants will require a satisfactory DBS check. Appointments are typically made within 4 to 8 weeks of closing.

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge, and skillsDemonstrate the following using the STAR method:
Experience across land management disciplines.Knowledge of conservation management, designated sites, forest practices, and land liabilities.Understanding of sustainable forest management, UKWAS, and certification schemes.Coaching and mentoring skills.Experience in community liaison and public engagement.Effective communication skills, influencing support for complex issues.Welsh language level requirements- Essential: B2 - Upper Intermediate (understanding and discussing work-related matters)
