Job summary

WSP is hiring a Principal Land Consultant to lead land referencing across the UK & Ireland, including engagement with landowners, authorities, and clients. You will oversee delivery of land rights and consents for major infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and timely outputs.

The role requires deep knowledge of HMLR interpretation, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage a multidisciplinary team, with travel to sites across the UK and Ireland.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of land referencing practices including detailed HMLR interpretation and book of reference production.
• Experience on infrastructure schemes with multi-disciplinary teams across sectors and locations.
• Track record in developing orders and/or acquiring land rights and related consents.

Responsibilities

• Deliver secure, on-time project outcomes within budget and high standards.
• Liaise with landowners, agents, legal reps, planning authorities and stakeholders.
• Quality assurance of deliverables (book of reference, land plans, statements of reasons).
• Mentor and develop staff; contribute to business strategy and bid/tender writing.
• Travel to various sites/locations as required.
