Job summary

WSP Birmingham is seeking an experienced Land Access Lead to secure land rights, organise surveys and build strong relationships with landowners and stakeholders. The role focuses on delivering land access for major infrastructure projects and coordinating with engineering, planning and environmental teams.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK Land Access and Licence requirements (S172, permits)
• Experience leading land consultants teams to deliver land consenting or land assembly
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with stakeholders at all levels
• Driving licence is required and willingness to travel as needed
• Familiarity with infrastructure projects and compliance with statutory processes

Responsibilities

• Lead land access projects, secure land rights, arrange surveys and engage landowners and communities
• Manage land access documentation, audits, and quality assurance reviews
• Coordinate land access with engineering, planning, and environmental strategies
• Provide senior-level advice to clients and project boards on risks and opportunities
• Oversee compliance with legal obligations and regulatory processes
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical training
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and manage consultation notes and records
