Job summary

GCS is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, build and secure Kubernetes infrastructure on bare-metal, on-premises hardware. This highly technical, security-sensitive contract role requires SC/DV clearance and hands-on expertise beyond standard deployment tasks.

You will lead the全-life cycle of Kubernetes clusters, optimize Linux/networking/storage, implement security controls, and drive observability with Fluent Bit, OpenTelemetry and Grafana while coordinating with security

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Kubernetes engineering experience.
• Proven experience building Kubernetes clusters on bare-metal/on-premises infrastructure.
• Strong Linux infrastructure and networking knowledge.
• Solid understanding of platform security and hardening principles.
• Ability to work independently on complex infrastructure challenges.
• SC or DV security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy production-grade Kubernetes clusters on bare-metal infrastructure.
• Engineer and optimise Linux, networking, storage and compute environments.
• Implement Kubernetes security controls and hardening measures.
• Design and improve logging/observability with Fluent Bit/OpenTelemetry/Grafana.
• Integrate platform logging/monitoring with SIEM tooling.
• Support network security monitoring across infrastructure and hardware devices.
• Improve security tooling (EDR, vulnerability scanners, antivirus).
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and improve reliability, performance and security.
• Participate in an on-call rota for critical infrastructure.
