About The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Kitchen Manager / Head Chef to join the Butlin's Team based in Minehead.
At Butlin’s, a resort is the home of getting stuck in, and no trip to the seaside would be complete without great food. We offer this to every guest, every time, in our restaurants. We believe that variety is the spice of life, and in this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and develop the skills of our team in our fantastic food venues within the Restaurants Department.
You will ensure that Junior Kitchen Managers lead each shift, maintain compliance with all food safety and Health & Safety policies, place orders for all food items with our onsite warehouse, and ensure compliance with all HACCP processes. You will communicate with the Food Development Team regarding operational challenges and establish a highly motivated, proactive culinary team with high ethical standards that deliver a cost-effective and quality-oriented service.
You will enforce cost control procedures, monitor waste and breakage, and collaborate with the kitchen and front of house teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
We are seeking individuals with previous experience managing a kitchen operation at a similar level, with a proven track record of managing team performance and developing people effectively in a commercial culinary environment.
You should be hardworking, reliable, and proactive, always seeking improvements to ensure the team consistently delivers our brand standards. We value energetic, enthusiastic, high-spirited, and fun-loving candidates who understand their role and the value they add to the guest experience by unleashing the potential of the team.
You must have passed your Level 3 Food Safety qualification and be confident in leading a team to maintain high standards in a fast-paced, busy kitchen environment.
Our chefs at Butlin’s are special, and our guests love returning to our restaurants as part of their holiday experience. The ideal candidate will be fun, eager to participate, work as part of a team, and committed to ensuring our guests have a great time, every time.
Typical working hours: 40 hours per week, five days over seven, with a bonus scheme included.
At Butlin’s, we’re all about fun, excitement, and adventure! For over 80 years, we’ve been delighting guests with non-stop action family breaks and epic adult-only Big Weekenders.
Our culture is one of the best things about working here. We focus on providing guests with an Altogether More Entertaining and Fun Break, driven by our three core values. If you want a role where you create smiles, aren’t afraid to get stuck in, and genuinely care for each other, this could be the perfect fit.
There has never been a more exciting time to join Butlin’s!
