Job summary

Scope AT Limited in London seeks a Senior KDB+ Developer to design and optimize high-performance data platforms built on kdb+. You will work closely with Risk teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions leveraging kdb+ tick architecture.

You bring 8+ years of production KDB+ experience, deep q language expertise, strong Unix/Linux skills, and hands-on CI/CD/Agile practice. You will mentor juniors and help drive engineering excellence across the team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on KDB+ development in production systems.
• Deep knowledge of q language, including table design and analytics.
• Expertise in kdb+ tick architecture (ticker plant, RDB, HDB).
• Experience with large datasets and high-performance queries.
• Strong Unix/Linux, shell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, and version control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain kdb+ tick systems with scalable data models.
• Build and operate solutions handling large, high-frequency datasets with low latency.
• Analyze and optimize q queries and ingestion pipelines for real-time and historical workloads.
• Collaborate with Risk teams to translate requirements into efficient, scalable code.
• Drive refactoring, benchmarking and adoption of best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers to raise technical excellence.
• Participate in design reviews, production support and root cause analysis.
• Work in an Agile environment across design, implementation, testing and release.
