Job summary

Edenred Paytech in the UK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for a cross-functional team. You will guide architectural decisions, contribute hands-on development in Java, and mentor engineers to deliver robust systems.

Based in a hybrid London or Swindon role with remote flexibility, you will collaborate with product, security and operations teams to build scalable, secure cloud-native platforms using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Tech Lead or Senior Java Developer in agile environments.
• Strong Java (17+), Spring Boot, REST APIs proficiency.
• Experience with AWS, containers and microservices architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Leadership and mentoring skills to guide engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Define coding standards, architectural principles, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Analysts, Architects and Scrum Masters to translate requirements into solutions.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
• Drive adoption of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability across the software lifecycle.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and backlog refinement.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their use for Edenred Paytech.
