Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Belfast, United Kingdom, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to design and evolve large, distributed systems for the FiTP team. The role focuses on high-volume trade capture and processing with a strong emphasis on low latency and multi-threaded Java applications.

You will work in a fast-paced environment requiring prioritization, deadline discipline, and clear communication to deliver client solutions while learning new concepts and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (CS/IT/Math/Engineering).
• Proven experience in high performance, low-latency, multi-threaded Java applications.
• Extensive hands-on Java development experience.
• Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security).
• Microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop large, complex distributed systems.
• Build high-performance, low-latency multi-threaded applications in Java.
• Develop and deploy RESTful services using Spring Boot.
• Contribute to cloud-enabled microservices on ECS with Docker/OpenShift.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver client solutions under deadlines.
