Citibank (Switzerland) AG in London/Global Tech is seeking a senior Java engineer to design and deliver high‑performance trading platform components. You will collaborate with Traders, Quants and PMs to translate business needs into scalable solutions for live markets.

The role requires deep Java expertise, knowledge of low‑latency distributed systems, and experience with messaging and data processing tools.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on coding experience in core Java, specializing in low-latency, high-throughput distributed applications.
• Proficiency in software fundamentals, data structures, design patterns, OO programming, and algorithms complexity analysis.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Solace, Kafka, etc.
• Practical experience with Chronicle and/or Aeron.
• Experience with distributed caching techniques.
• Proven track record in market data processing and trading applications.
• Experience building back-testing frameworks and handling historical data.
• Basic Linux performance tuning and troubleshooting in the Java/Linux stack.
• Familiarity with Gradle, Git, TeamCity, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
• Strong academic record in Computer Science/Engineering or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reusable algo trading platform components with a focus on performance and low latency.
• Collaborate directly with Traders, Quants, and Product Managers to implement enhancements.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of core algorithmic components.
• Work with eTrading Teams and Production Support to maintain live trading systems.
• Adhere to high engineering standards and best practices.
