IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design and build high‑quality applications for Public Sector and Defence clients, using Java/JEE and modern web technologies. You’ll contribute to secure, scalable solutions and collaborate with analysts, testers, architects, and other developers.

Qualifications

• Experience developing applications using Java and JEE technologies.
• Knowledge of Java frameworks such as Spring.
• Understanding of web technologies (JSP, Servlets).
• Experience with dependency injection, inversion of control, and AOP.
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Experience creating and integrating APIs.
• Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git workflows).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java/JEE applications.
• Build web components using modern Java frameworks.
• Apply enterprise development practices (DI, IOC, AOP, FP, TDD).
• Develop secure, efficient data access and transaction management.
• Support integration with enterprise systems in public sector/defence.
• Participate in DevOps practices and automated testing.
• Collaborate with analysts, testers, architects, and developers.
