Job summary

iO Associates is recruiting for a Senior/Lead Software Development Engineer (Java) on a hybrid basis with 2 days in the office. You will lead the design, development and support of scalable, cloud-native Java applications within an Agile, DevOps environment.

You will build microservices and APIs, work with Kafka, Azure, Kubernetes and Docker, and mentor engineers while ensuring clean, maintainable code and high transaction performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with Java, RxJava and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and building distributed, microservices-based applications.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, PostgreSQL and Couchbase.
• Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile delivery experience and a passion for clean, maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java applications and microservices.
• Build and maintain cloud-native solutions using Azure.
• Improve system performance, reliability and scalability.
• Develop APIs and event-driven services with Kafka.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Support software throughout its full lifecycle in a CI/CD environment.
• Experience of designing and developing real time high transaction system.
