Placements24 partners with a fintech firm seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using Java and the Spring ecosystem. The role is based in Randburg with a hybrid work setup, offering opportunities to shape critical financial applications.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years Java backend experience, strong Spring Boot/Security, RESTful services, and a passion for secure, scalable software.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional Java backend development experience.
• Expertise in the Spring framework, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
• Strong understanding of OOP principles and design patterns.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful web services.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL/MySQL and ORM (Hibernate).
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and design principles.
• Experience with Maven or Gradle and Git.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Docker is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork; hybrid work experience is advantageous in Randburg.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and implement robust backend services using Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Security, etc.).
• Build and maintain scalable microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and other engineers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software defects and production issues.
• Contribute to architectural design discussions and decisions.
• Ensure adherence to security standards and best practices in software development.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise.
• Stay current with advancements in Java technologies and industry trends.
