Job summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking a Senior Developer to join an established software business. The role focuses on backend development using Java and Spring, with a strong emphasis on TDD and automated testing within an Agile team.

You will collaborate with product specialists, UX designers and Test Analysts to deliver robust software. The position offers a hybrid work pattern: remote with one day per month onsite in Manchester.

Qualifications

• Backend development with Java and Spring in production systems.
• Experience implementing TDD and automated testing.
• Experience working in Agile teams (Scrum/XP).
• Strong collaboration, communication and problem-solving.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native or serverless solutions.
• CI/CD experience including Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and IaC tools.
• Exposure to React and TypeScript is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications with Java and Spring.
• Collaborate with product, UX and Test Analysts to translate requirements.
• Apply TDD, automated tests and CI to deliver quality software.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and solve complex problems.
• Participate in pair programming and code reviews.
• Help improve development practices, performance and maintainability.
