Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior IT Support Analyst to join our client in Randburg, Gauteng. You will provide advanced desktop, server, and network support, while mentoring junior staff and leading IT projects.

The role emphasizes security, policy enforcement, and strategic IT planning. The ideal candidate holds 5–7 years in IT support, strong Windows/macOS troubleshooting, AD/Exchange experience, and certifications such as CCNA or MCSE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting Windows and macOS environments, network protocols, and hardware.
• Experience with server administration (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange) and virtualization technologies.
• Strong understanding of IT security best practices and principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, MCSE, CCNA) are highly desirable.
• Willingness to work a hybrid schedule from our office in Randburg, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for desktop hardware, software, network connectivity, and enterprise applications.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and network devices.
• Lead IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
• Diagnose and resolve complex IT issues, acting as an escalation point for the IT support team.
• Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure security and compliance.
• Mentor and train junior IT support staff, providing guidance and technical expertise.
• Conduct regular system audits, performance monitoring, and preventative maintenance.
• Manage IT asset inventory and software licensing.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and procure necessary equipment.
• Contribute to IT strategy and planning, identifying areas for technological improvement.
