Job summary

Magellan is seeking an experienced Project Manager for the Rail sector in the UK and international assignments. You will manage complex projects across the full lifecycle, from requirements to delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring client satisfaction.

The role focuses on development and customer integration of software products within the rail industry, with emphasis on risk management, milestones, and reporting. PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP certification is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as IT/Technology/Software Project Manager.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Domain knowledge in rail processes, transit ticketing data, or payment ecosystems is highly preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting and forecasting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of a complex project from requirements gathering through to final validation.
  • Oversee project design (client requirements, functional specifications, phasing, deliverables, acceptance criteria).
  • Lead the project by assembling, organising, coordinating and facilitating the project team.
  • Deliver the project at the quality level expected by the client.
  • Manage and anticipate risks and contingencies; communicate progress (costs, timelines).
  • Conduct technology watch within your area of expertise.
